Let’s talk business

Please don’t be mistaken, starting a business is hard hard work. but with such a dedicated, smart, and sensible financial/business coach, you can gain tools and tips to make that success a little easier.

Hello friends. If you’re just meeting me, my name is Coach Bre. I am a financial and business coach and accountant. I take on many roles, I am currently serving under a multi-billion-dollar company as a corporate business transformation and compliance manager, but I am also a small business owner, blogger and coach.

I will give you tips to help you flourish and there’s only one rule: Progress over Perfection.

In the beginning, you may not be a multi-million-dollar business owner. That’s OK if you start making $10 a day today, you’re successful. Bre is here to help you. Let me give you five businesses to think about and decide which one could potentially be for you.

The first part of engaging with this read is to decide what business you would go into. You have to decide where you’re starting. You must take inventory of who you are and what you must provide right now. Let me tell you all of these you do not need much to get started. Overall, you need time, dedication, and commitment to your business. “Whatever you water grows”

Here’s some encouragement and the first business idea.

I got into college and started to earn my bachelor's in mathematics, which quickly changed after about a year when I became a sophomore. I switched over to a bachelor’s in accounting with business and I also focused on certain finance courses.  So, I started entrepreneurship while I was a freshman in college, and this was a particularly hard time in my life plus I had just lost an entire stream of income. During this time, I needed income quickly, and never did I think it would lead to me maintaining multiple successful small businesses.  I landed in business and never looked back.  Please understand every situation is different but here was mine.

I stayed up endless nights studying and searching for work. Believe me when I say the job market was on its last leg and it was nearly impossible to find a part-time second job. I had to make funds by any means necessary, so I began doing pay-per-click work as a side hustle, and I’m not here to downplay that because I did make $800 extra a month on click-for-work. That type of work has good months and bad. If you haven’t read my blog about all the side hustles that made me money, click here.

Even though clicks for pay was an okay income, I desired more. I saved 30 for the next 4 weeks, did some research and I decided to use 120 dollars saved of that click pay money to invest in some type of business. I was a super busy parent and student, so I needed a business idea that didn’t require too much time away from my family.

Retail resale

1.       I found the perfect thing; I decided to start flipping unsold merchandise. Yes, Retail resale. I

bought an extra-large box of “unsellable” items from a large retailer. I invested $120 in my first box; I was able to quadruple my return.

That box had enough merchandise to start a small e-commerce store, ‘Sweet Bre Boutique’, and to post on shopping sites. I sold that box to make $450, from just one box. A win is a win.

Even though this was a great thing I was still feeling doubtful, because it took nearly 2 months to spin that merchandise, so it was a slower process.

I didn’t get discouraged, because when first starting it’s easy for us to see these multi-billion-dollar commodities and compare. But I’m here to tell you if you put in effort, set goals, and push through, you will have success.

Maybe you’re thinking you only want to make $20,000 a year extra, maybe you want to turn this small business into a multi-business company.  Wherever you’re starting and wherever you want to go I’m here for you so let’s talk about some side hustles and let’s talk about some more small businesses we can get into.

A small business can include anything from services trades people retail and professional work. No matter what type of small business you choose to pursue, you have to take inventory of your mindset and your capabilities.

Now let’s start thinking about it. If you do one of these businesses, would this, be a main income or would this, be a side hustle or just something to pay for, a large event or travel.

I did not organize these in order OK but what I will tell you is that number five is one of my absolute favorites and why?  Because I have found personal success in number five.  In all of these, I have experienced success from either a client or a business peer.

Now the income that I have based these ideas on is from my client base or what I have received from doing this type of work.

OK everybody finds and defines success in their way, so where some of these hustles may make $2000 extra a month for some, they may only make a couple of hundred dollars for others, but that’s OK.

We are all at different parts of our lives, there was a point in time when I could only get my small business to crank out only 500 a month for me, but then I got to the point where I could maintain multiple ventures and make a few thousand with less effort and that was great, progress over perfection.

There are multiple businesses ideas because business can be defined by a person or group owning something they do often a person's regular occupation, profession, or trade. OK, I can give you tips, tools, and motivation to get you out there and get you on the main street quickly.

        Cleaning /organizing

2.Cleaning and organizing is a slept-on business. The beauty of providing services as a small business, you create variations and terms on what you can provide. Maybe you want to start super small and begin with organizing garages or storage spaces. Not much equipment would be needed except maybe a broom and trash bags. Then as you grow your goals shift.

Another great paying cleaning service is business cleaning. Businesses need to make an impression on employees, clients, and customers. So, businesses invest in this service. Even within accounting, cleaning is a common business expense amongst clients. Business-to-business cleaning can rake in substantial income and grow quickly.  Depending on where you’re located you can clean office spaces, clean building windows, pressure wash business sidewalks, parking lots or livestock areas and so many more.

Here’s some encouragement.

I have a business client, that began with me and an idea. The long-term goal was to own a successful cleaning business with 20 full-time employees. I love big ideas.

Acting as his coach we broke that up into smaller short-term goals based on what his current assets could allow. We brainstormed and applied realistic numbers and created a plan. The business was started as cleaning services, but he had to start much smaller than he initially anticipated.

I motivated Ti to think progress over perfection. He took my advice and started by scrubbing driveways as a side hustle. With oil that spills from cars, debris, and animal droppings there was a need for this type of work. Ti started with less than 10 items, and cost less than 100.00. The biggest purchases were an industrial deck scrub brush, a broom, trash bags, a water hose, and industrial cleaners.

We wanted a quick return on investment, while he gained skills, Ti only charged 25.00 a driveway just to get the money flowing. Where this seems to be an amount unworthy of others time, Ti but forth effort and came out on top.

It took some footwork at first to find clients and get the word out, but within the 1st 2 weeks of weekend work, he made the money he spent on supplies back. Once we had a 30-day cycle of account receivables, Ti was up 3 times the amount he spent on supplies. I coached Ti into investing, by purchasing a 250.00 light-duty electric pressure washer. I knew he could do jobs quicker but also charge more since he had better equipment.  Within another 30-day cycle the price of the pressure washer paid for itself nearly 3 times.

Within a year and a half, Ti’s business grew,

and his assets allowed for an employee and a company truck. He also only does commercial properties now and rakes in 2800 profit on a low month and well past 6000 profit in peak months.

You’ve always had this Ti! And because you have a coach that believes in you and your vision, you cannot lose.

Brainstorm

Could a cleaning service be your niche?

If you aimed to start organizing and removing junk from garages and storage spaces every weekend and charged 50.00+ a garage, you could make a profit in less than a month.

What about targeting restaurants?  You could spray and clean industrial trash cans or de-grease vents and floors. This work could bring in 500/ month or more as a part-time business.

What could you do with an extra 500 a month?

Progress over perfection.
